As a student of Journalism, I am very well acquainted with the field of mass communication. However, it is quite surprising to see the kind of work being done by Charkha. Charkha’s initiatives in various remote rural regions of the country including Kashmir are aimed towards highlighting the voices of the rural and marginalised communities with the help of National Media. This not only can be regarded as a well intentioned step but a movement that can become a ray of hope for communities waiting for their social inclusion. The best part about Charkha’s work is that for bringing a change on the ground, they train the youth and help them develop their writing skills. Even I wrote an article as a part of the same training. Today, I can undoubtedly appreciate the editing skills of the Urdu Editor at Charkha, Mr. Anis Ur Rahman Khan who edited my article brilliantly. The English translation of the same article has skilfully been done by the editor of the English language - Ms. Chetna Verma. I want to convey my heartiest congratulations especially to Mr. Anis Ur Rahman Khan for his remarkable work and wish Charkha a very bright future.
